WE OPEN ON JUNE 26
We’re very excited to tell you that the 26th June is the new opening date for both Camping Castell Montgrí and Camping Castell Mar! Fortunately, the pandemic caused by the Covid-19 is subsiding and we will soon be able to open our facilities.
These past few weeks have been very difficult for families who have lost loved ones and we have all had to adapt to live in an exceptional situation. During this time, our primary concern has always been the safety of our customers and employees. We were due to open on May 8 but the state of emergency, and consecutive phases involved in lifting the lockdown, have prevented us from doing so. It is with more desire than ever that we will begin this season, with the conviction of being able to offer you an excellent holiday despite certain limits that, for safety reasons, we will all be obliged to respect. Our main goals are to keep you safe and provide you with the best service which is why we will be applying the protocols indicated by the health authorities.
WHY WILL YOUR HOLIDAYS BE SAFE?
Our main advantage is our size; we have very large facilities. Castell Montgrí is one of the largest campsites in Europe, with an area of almost 250,000 m². Castell Mar is located just in front of Rubina Beach, which is around 2 kilometers long, and the campsite has an area of approximately 80,000 m². Campsites like ours allow us all to maintain the social distance required by the regulations to combat the spread of Covid-19.
The cleaning and disinfection of all communal areas and accommodations will be reinforced. You will be able to use the pools and terraces of the restaurants and bars. All these areas have been adapted to be able to function without any risk of contagion for customers or for workers.
Activities for children and adults will continue to be carried out by the entertainment team. This year guided excursions in the surroundings of the two campsites will have an extra emphasis.
ENJOY THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS
Both our campsites are located within natural parks: the ‘Aiguamolls de l’Empordà’ park for Camping Castell Mar, and the ‘Montgrí, illes Mèdes i Baix Ter’ park for Camping Castell Montgrí. These are two unique environments.
This year, we will organize a complete program of activities and guided excursions, which will allow you to get to know two of the most attractive areas of Catalonia in terms of both wildlife and landscape.
In addition, a couple of years ago we designed a series of routes for each campsite that you can follow without the need for a guide. Just download the app on your mobile phone to access it. By clicking on the links, you will find the routes of Castell Montgrí and Castell Mar. You will also find posters of the routes on both campsites, with a QR code which you can scan.
In the videos below you can discover some of the many possibilities that our environment offers to help you enjoy your vacation.
Càmping Castell Montgrí:
In one of the most interesting natural areas near the Castell Montgrí campsite, the aiguamolls of Ter Vell, we have been able to note the positive effects on the environment due to the drop in human activity caused by the pandemic. This spring, it was possible to observe over a hundred species of migratory birds, such as flamingos, coots, black crowned night herons and cattle egrets among others. The campsite director, ornithologist Jordi Sargatal, explains in this TV Costa Brava report, filmed on World Migratory Bird Day.
Càmping Castell Mar
After so many weeks of confinement, we invite you to enjoy nature and our first-class facilities. This summer, more than ever, the holidays will be a good way to regain well-being and recharge the batteries of the whole family.
